Twitterings of the Day

  • 15:32 Home again, home again, jiggety-jig! Catching up on Rabbit snuggles. Also, trying to buy 50' of 1/8" copper tube for projects. #
  • 19:50 @magna_maxima: Agreed. Arabic is so trendy nowadays! :) #
  • 19:58 @kaden_harris: Oh, thanks! I actually need tubing, not wire; 1/8 is narrowest I've found. Does it come in diff thicknesses too, like pipe? #
  • 20:00 Oh dear. Experiment FAIL. Sometimes, science is poopy. #
  • 22:35 @karenbynight and @kaden_harris: Very helpful, thanks! McMaster-Carr FTW: www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/114/135 #
  • 01:14 Mr. Housman has clearly read too much Greek Tragedy, and heard it translated badly too often, the poor man: tinyurl.com/housmanspoof #

You've never come across "Fragment of a Greek Tragedy" before??

Heh. I was recently reminded. And of course, D.S. Raven's fine translation of it back into the Greek: http://www.jstor.org/pss/641969.

I personally like literal translations and plenty of annotations to go along, and it's usually fine for my purposes (unless I want to absorb the text in a timely manner without paying too much attention to whatever the original might have been).
